Refectory

Sometimes the key characteristics of monastic life are grouped together under headings that help us think about the qualities of that life. Rectory is often used to describe the fact that we are not designed to be alone and that the table is set for more than one. Together with others we offer stability, presence, and hospitality to the greater community. The Refectory (or table) is where we learn from one another including homestead classes, scriptures, and a way of life.
